Norway
A small journey through Lofoten, Norway.
The trip starts for me, with a flight from Vienna to Bodo. To get to the Lofoten from Bordo, you have to take a ferry. After about 3hours of trying not to get seasick, we arrived at Lofoten. (The sea especially the wind, can make the ferry ride quite unpleasant). On solid ground again, we headed out to find the nearest camping place. Unfortunately, I haven’t captured photos on that day.
When you arrive at Lofoten and travel south, you get to the village A. In A there is a little port with a small bakery with good coffee and very good cinnamon bun. The cinnamon bun are even better, after a hike onto Tindstinden peak. From there you have a good view onto A and the south part of Lofoten. If you look up north you can get a little view of what the journey will bring.
Now we have been on the South of Lofoten, so let’s drive north. The first major sight after A is Reine. At Reine is also a hike called Reinebringen but when we were there, it was closed due to maintenance.
Traveling up north we hiked to Kvalvika Beach and stayed there for one night. In the morning we hiked up the little hill to look down at the beach.
Then we traveled further up north to the Nusfjord.
At Haukland beach the weather changed, so we had to find a little hut for the next few rainy days.
We decided to leave Lofoten and go onto Vesterålen.
At Vesterålen we went to Bleik and stayed there for a hike onto Måtinden.
In September when the sun is setting above the polar circle, you can have the chance to see the northern lights. After a nice sunset the sky was clear and I saw them for the first time. At first I was confused because when they aren’t that strong, they look like clouds, but trough the camera they appear green. Its satisfying to watch them dance along the sky.

The next days we spent traveling to Senja a beautiful group of islands. Senja isn’t that known but really worth a visit.
